These Terms of Service govern your use of the website at spencer-taylor.com and of the software published here by Spencer Taylor, trading as Threshold Solutions, including the WordPress plugin Threshold Login Guard and its Sign in with Google feature. By using this website, or by signing in to a website that runs Threshold Login Guard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What we provide

Threshold Solutions is a web design and development studio. We build and maintain WordPress websites for clients, and we develop plugins used on those websites. Threshold Login Guard is a login-security plugin that protects a WordPress login page and, optionally, offers a Sign in with Google button so a visitor can authenticate with an existing Google Account instead of a password.

2. Accounts and sign-in

Signing in with Google creates or matches a user account on the individual website you are signing in to, not a central Threshold account. The owner of that website controls that account and its deletion. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and your Google Account secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account.

You may unlink your Google Account at any time from your WordPress profile on that website. Doing so does not delete your website account; contact the site owner if you want the account itself removed.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this website or any site protected by Threshold Login Guard to attempt unauthorised access to any account or system, to run automated attacks such as credential stuffing or brute-force login attempts, to probe or circumvent security features, to submit false or disposable identity information in order to evade controls, or to break any applicable law. We may block, rate-limit, or refuse access to anyone who does.

4. Privacy and Google user data

Our handling of personal information, including information received from Google when you use Sign in with Google, is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: Threshold Login Guard requests only the openid and email scopes, stores only your email address and Google account identifier in the database of the website you signed in to, retains no Google access or refresh tokens, and shares no Google user data with any third party. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Software licence

Threshold Login Guard is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, modify, and redistribute it under those terms. The Threshold Solutions and Spencer Taylor names and logos are not covered by that licence and may not be used to imply endorsement.

6. Availability and changes

The website and the plugin are provided on an as-available basis. We may update, change, or discontinue any part of them, including the Sign in with Google feature, at any time. We may also update these Terms; the revised version takes effect when posted on this page, and the date at the top will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The website and the software are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. No security measure is perfect; we do not warrant that the website or the plugin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will prevent every attack.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spencer Taylor and Threshold Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the website or the software. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
